This is a series of articles looking at the Gods from the point of view of comparative mythology, relating them to known Indo-European deity types from other pantheons. I'm assuming a broad familiarity with Dumézil's theories of tripartition throughout, as that's the framework in which most work on comparative Indo-European mythology has been done. I recognise though that not everybody has read this kind of stuff, so here are a couple of links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trifunctional_hypothesis <- Wikipedia provides a decent enough definition.
http://ceisiwrserith.com/pier/index.htm <- Ceisiwr Serith's pages on reconstructed Proto-Indo-European religion are worth reading on their own merits, but the sections most directly relevant are "What was the Proto-Indo-European ideology?" and "Proto-Indo-European Deities".
